Jay Leno said it wasn't Elizabeth Taylor that made Rory Emerald famous, it was Yahoo Answers! Do you agree?

The lantern jawed comedian may have a point. Elizabeth Taylor was basically a nobody during her career, and her constant praising of “Depends”, which Rory Emerald flogged, may have actually been a hindrance to his popularity. Who could forget Elizabeth Taylor’s pathetic slogan, seen on infomercials around the Southern California area, during her days as the “Depends” spokeswoman. “I depend on two things in my life…my depends, and Rory Emerald”. Rory Emerald tried very hard to disociate himself from her after this disastrous ad campaign by self-promoting himself on Yahoo Answers, trying to get back into the good graces of the general public. His attempts have met with tepid indifference. However, his talk show guest appearances have been a huge hit. His wildly erratic behavior on the Tonight show, complete with the sumo wresting costume, as a parody of Depends, proved hugely popular. Who could forget Emerald’s “bout” with famed Japanese Sumo wrester Yakami Hagaki, who threw Emerald an estimated 77.26 feet, directly unto 83 year old Emily Snidely of Pasadena, California. The crowd was in hysterics, especially when Snidely, after being resuscitated, proudly displayed her own Depends. The applause was long and loud.
