Anyone redeem the timeshare gift?

I haven't myself but I've heard nightmare stories. However, a friend of mine, her parents went to one not too long ago in Branson and they had NO INTENTION of buying a time share but they loved their trip. They said it was awesome and they only had to sit through the seminar and that was it. I feel it was dishonest of them but they did enjoy their trip.
